With two platinum albums, consistently sold-out concerts, a cache
of prestigious awards, and a collection of hit singles (including
"Bump, Bump, Bump," "Girlfriend," and "Gots
Ta Be") to their credit, the members of R&B / Hip-Hop
super-group B2K continue their unbroken string of success via
You Got Served, a
dynamic double dose of cinematic and musical excellence.
You Got Served, the feature film, which stars B2K, Marques Houston,
Lil' Kim, and Steve Harvey, will be released on over 2,000 movie screens
on January 30, 2004. However, stoking the musical pre-release
fires of their forthcoming flick, B2K's J-Boog, Raz B, Lil Fizz,
and Omarion deliver the powerhouse 'B2K music from the motion
pictures "You Got Served"' soundtrack album, to be released
by Epic Records / Sony Urban Music on December 23, 2003.
Like the group's platinum self-titled 2002 debut
album, and the equally successful follow-up, Pandemonium,
B2K's latest set is an impressive project the L.A.-based teen
heartthrobs view with pride, confidence, and anticipation. "This
is one of our best records yet, and since it also represents our
acting debut, we knew it had to be more off the chain than ever,"
J-Boog advises. B2K and Chris Stokes (B2K's manager and director
of "You Got Served"), "produced some of the tracks,"
notes Lil Fizz. "Plus we also worked with a few other producers
like Tony Scott, J Classic, Meech, Adonis, Dexter Simmons, Ish,
Big Tank, and Gousse," Raz B chimes in. "Yeah,"
Omarion concludes, "they helped us take the soundtrack way
over the top."
Heading for the Top-of-the-Charts as it impacts radio on November
18th, "Bada Boom", featuring rap star Fabolous, is the
hot lead single from "You Got Served". Its pulsating
beat and high profile performances reflect the strong chemistry
between B2K and Fabolous. "Fabolous ain't no joke,"
J-Boog praised. "He's one of the best rappers on the planet."
The album also boasts special guest star appearances by Lil Kim,
Jagged Edge
, rising stars Jhene, ATL, XSO Drive, and former Immature / IMX
lead singer Marques Houston.
Nominated for an American Music Award as well as a Vibe Magazine
Award, 2003 is also the year that B2K received Soul Train Music
Award honors (Best R&B / Soul Single, Group / Band Or Duo),
and a BET Viewers Choice award, among others. And, while enjoying
remarkable record sales all year, they also drew standing room
only crowds on their national "Scream III" concert tour.
The 'B2K music from the motion pictures "You Got Served"'
soundtrack CD and their January 30, 2004 feature film debut continue
the group's amazing winning streak, which gets another boost when
they kick off their new concert tour December 26th. B2K represents
the best, brightest and most talented of their generation. When
listening to them, you know, "You Got Served" by R&B
/ Hip-Hop's best.
